Rhett 1 Year Portraits { Boone Hall Plantation }

As children grow older, we as parents grasp desperately at any opportunity to capture a moment – to remember peals of laughter, chubby cheeks covered in dessert, and those pivotal achievements such as baby’s first steps.  1 year portraits are a perfect opportunity to chronicle that first revolution around the sun and see how far they, and you, have come.  Emily met up with parents Jennifer and Drew and little man, Rhett, at Boone Hall Plantation for some family portraits.  This is also where we photographed the couple’s wedding a few years ago and agreed it was a great way to bring together such important moments in their lives by revisiting the place they exchanged vows.  The family’s khaki and blue ensemble was perfect for the cool spring day.  Rhett’s monogrammed onesie was just too cute!

They started on the Cotton Dock with the calm waters of Horlbeck Creek drifting lazily behind them.  The family was all smiles as Rhett picked at the wood.  Those big blue eyes and squishy cheeks are simply to die for!  He clapped and played for a while out by the dock before Emily led them to a quiet spot beneath the oaks for family portraits.  The trio looked so happy together, each smiling while the parents played with Rhett.  He had such a blast with mom and dad before, but got in some solo pics playing on the blanket.  We love how his personality comes through in each frame and that sweet moment of cuddling his stuffed animal just melts our heart.

Thank you for letting us spend an afternoon with your little family.  We hope the next year and all of the ones after are filled with as much joy as possible!
