It is with great excitement and anticipation that we welcome our newest artist to the Riverland Studios team, Bridgit McBee! Bridgit is well established in the Charleston photography industry and has been photographing weddings and portraits since 2007.

About a month ago, we knew it was time to look for another team member but we had no idea where to start. What makes Riverland Studios special is that we pride ourselves in putting artistic perspective and quality at the forefront of everything we do. And finding the right person that matches our vision and style can be a huge challenge. Not a week after realizing our need, we got a call from our friend, Bridgit. She is a natural artist, extremely talented with a camera, and sees the world in a very special way. It took about two seconds to realize working with her was meant to be.

When you meet Bridgit, she immediately puts you at ease and you feel like you’ve been friends forever. She’s not just a “people person”… she genuinely loves people! We’re so excited for you to get to know her and to experience how passionate she is about her craft.

Check out this sweet sneak peek of Brandy & Scott’s wedding at The Mills House! Prior to the wedding we asked the couple how they met and fell in love. This was Brandy’s response:

“My fiance and I are both finishing up our last year of law school. I met him about a week after school started, but he swears he doesn’t remember me. He says we met a few weeks later, when we started running into one another at the library more often. One night I made an apple pie and brought it to school for a small group of us — we had a huge assignment due the next day and we were pulling all nighters at the library. Everyone proposed marriage to me after my pie except for him, and that made me mad. I figured I had to try harder. So i kept baking for him (and everyone else) until he finally, a year and half later, proposed.”

I thought that was such a cute story and not just because I’ve got apple pie on the brain for Thanksgiving! Brandy and Scott were originally going to honeymoon in Charleston. When they began to plan their wedding they decided to cut their guest list to just family and very close friends and have everyone come celebrate here in the Lowcountry. We are so thrilled that they did and excited to share the sweet Fall wedding with you.

We have a lovely, intimate wedding to share with you today! Caitlin & John exchanged vows under the Angel Oak Tree while surrounded by their closest family and friends. Before their wedding Caitlin told us, “We started planning a big wedding for March of next year, however, I got overwhelmed and decided that weddings have become too commercialized. So we talked about it and decided to get married sooner with just family and a few close friends.” The two kept it simple and personal- Caitlin wore a light pink dress that her mother made by hand and carried a DIY bouquet made from her mother’s collection of brooches. John wore a black suit and purple tie. After the ceremony, we explored the area surrounding the park, stopping for portraits along the way.

Congratulations Caitlin & John! Thank you for letting me be a part your special day.
