Lauren & Todd { The Island House Wedding }

I am so excited to share this sneak peek today on the blog! Lauren and Todd decided on Charleston for their destination wedding location. They reside in New Jersey but selected Charleston as the perfect place for their friends and family to have a little get away and celebrate their ‘I Do’s’. I was lucky enough to shoot their fabulous day with the help of Noni and our wonderful assistant, Cheyenne. We started the day out at Folly Beach where Lauren and her bridesmaids were getting ready. Lauren and Todd rented an awesome Folly Beach cottage that had tons of funky surfer chic artsy details. The couple opted to do a first look on the beach which gave them a chance to have an intimate moment together prior to all the chaos a wedding day typically brings. I love how the overcast skies provided such a bright yet monochromatic setting for their first look. After that, we headed downtown for a few shots of the bridal party and the soon to be newlyweds at White Point Gardens and along the cobblestone streets of historic downtown Charleston. Lauren and Todd really wanted to incorporate multiple areas of Charleston in their photos so they decided to add an extra hour to their coverage which allowed us plenty of time for multiple portrait locations. We then hopped back on the awesome retro yellow bus and made our way to The Island House for the main event. Lynn, at the The Island House did a fabulous job styling all the beautiful blush details and coordinating the day. I just loved the soft feminine color palette and the special details that Lauren chose. Despite brief rain showers the day went off without a hitch. Guests enjoyed a wonderful dinner and dancing into the night to the sounds of Quiana Parler & Friends who never disappoint! Congratulations to the lovely couple and thanks so much to all the excellent Charleston wedding vendors that helped to create such a perfect day!
