Ashley & Alec { Lowndes Grove Plantation Wedding }

Cana headed to Downtown Charleston to photograph a beautiful Lowndes Grove Plantation wedding and we’re excited to share highlights from the day with you! Lowndes Grove Plantation sits on the banks of the scenic Ashley River and features live oaks and gorgeous waterfront vistas. The location was perfect for the fun and classy wedding that the bride envisioned. Ashley and Alec met at the University of Cincinnati and have been together for six years. With their busy lives, they cherish the free time they have together and enjoy traveling and wine tasting. Charleston’s a personal favorite, especially with their love of the outdoors.

They decided on  a first look featuring the natural beauty of Hampton Park. After capturing some lovely portraits, the couple headed a few blocks over to Lowndes Grove to be wed in front of the historic estate. The main house of Lowndes Grove is perfect for outdoor weddings and Ashley and Alec’s ceremony with the building in the background was stunning. Small bouquets of petite daisies adorned the aisles and complimented Ashley’s bridal bouquet perfectly. Following the ceremony, Ashley and Alec shared a few romantic moments on the dock with the spectacular Ashley River waterfront stretching to the horizon.

The reception was held inside of the main house and featured delicious fare from Fish Catering. Elegant greenery in the centers of rustic wood tables with glass and white linen created a beautiful atmosphere perfect for an intimate gathering. Following cocktails and hors d’ouerves and a wonderful dinner with family and friends, the couple took to the dance floor to get the party started. Then, with sparklers twinkling overhead, Ashley and Alec made their escape into the Autumn evening, anxious to start their new lives together.
