Two hours up the coast from Charleston sits Huntington Beach State Park, a beautiful site of low country conservation.  Nestled along the beach there is the Moorish-style Atalaya Castle, one of the more unique venues in the Grand Strand area and quite the side to behold.  Have your ceremony among the Palmetto-lined brick courtyard or on the nearby beach, and invite your guests to enjoy South Carolina history and nature at it’s finest!  The castle exterior can easily been dressed up or down for any event theme from shabby chic to low country charming to pure romantic elegance.  Guests in town for your wedding and celebration can enjoy all that Huntington has to offer: fishing, swimming, camping, bird watching, and more.  With such a variety of landscapes and activities, Atalaya Castle is a true gem of the East Coast.

 

WHY WE LOVE HUNTINGTON’S ATALAYA CASTLE

It’s not often we can say we’re photographing at a castle!  Atalaya Castle allows that dream to come true, while simultaneously supporting conservation and history of our beautiful South Carolina.  We are easily entranced by the naturally distressed architecture here, and the spacious property means plenty of opportunity for unique wedding portraits.  The Moorish-style castle is delightful with its eclectic brick interior & exterior, both complimented by the lush grass courtyard.  The Castle adds a distinct elegant and minimalist feel to any style of event held within its walls.  For couples who want to revel in historical architecture and the beach at once, Atalaya is the natural choice.

• Available for rental April – October
• Rental fee includes use of outdoor spaces, indoor studio, and stables from 5-9:30pm
• Huntington Beach State Park remains open to the public; Atalaya castle open until 5pm
