Legare Waring House {Wedding Venue}

Happy Valentines Day everyone! With so many beautiful venues in Charleston, sometimes it can be hard to choose which one to pick. So to provide a little help, we are recommending our favorite venues to our brides and grooms! One of our personal favorites is Legare Waring House at Charles Towne Landing. Why? Because of it’s jaw-dropping landscapes, including a hall of oaks, historic plantation house, and beautiful lagoons and gardens.

Charles Towne Landing is a South Carolina state park located right off of the Ashley River. This site is one of South Carolina’s most significant historic sites because in 1670, it was established as the birthplace of the Carolina’s colony. Legare Waring House was first built in the 1840′s. It was destroyed during the Civil War, and reconstructed by Ferdinanda Izlar Legare Backer Waring to be an early representation of an antebellum plantation home. Now, the house is used for wedding receptions, rehearsal dinners, and other events! There are four bridal suites, two-story grooms quarters, a catering kitchen, back patio, and plenty of room for parking. Guests can enjoy the sunset over the lake with antique wrought iron fountain, or walk through the house’s impeccably decorated historic rooms. To get a better idea of what a wedding would look like at this location, below are some of our favorite photos from this venue.
