Azka and Justin met in graduate school both studying business. They didn’t get to know each other until they were assigned as partners on a class project. One day Justin asked Azka to meet him at a sub shop to work on the project. Justin paid for her sub and they spent the time getting to know each other rather than working on the project. The rest was history! Quickly they became best friends and when they’re not working these Charlotte residents love working out, watching netflix and exploring the culinary delights of their city.
Once Azka and Justin got engaged they spent time planning a big traditional wedding, but it felt like the wedding was no longer about them. Instead they decided to come to their favorite vacation spot have an Ocean Course elopement on Kiawah Island! They chose Kiawah for its natural beauty and specifically the Ocean Course because it’s a lovely, elegant venue for any size wedding. Shannon had a wonderful time photographing these love birds for their simple, waterfront ceremony. Azka’s gorgeous gown fit the formal setting beautifully and we love the way she wore her hair half back with an elegant but natural feel. Azka’s bouquet also pulled inspiration from the oceanfront venue – full of bright white roses and blue hydrangeas. Justin looked sharp in his blue suit that goes so well with his red hair and his classic boutonnière matched Azka’s bouquet. The Ocean Course has so many great spots for portraits and Shannon did a wonderful job capturing Azka and Justin together in both candid and formal shots. We especially love the couple on the joggling board and also under the Ocean Course‘s big golf clock!
This romantic elopement is melting our hearts and we wish the best for Azka and Justin! Come back and visit us in Charleston soon!
