Ashley and Gregory were married in a beautiful ceremony at St. John’s Lutheran Church in downtown Charleston and we had the pleasure of joining them for their special day. Situated in the heart of Charleston’s historic district, St. John’s is a stunning church and, like many of our churches in the Holy City, dates back almost 200 years! After their ceremony the couple continued to take advantage of Charleston’s historic beauty, and headed to White Point Garden for some portraits that were beautifully captured by Shannon. We love how Ashley and Gregory look under the twisting branches of the oak tress, with golden light pouring through. Isn’t Ashley’s Modern Trousseau gown so pretty with lace overlay?
Their reception was held at another historic Charleston establishment, the Harbour Club, on Piroleau Street. Walking up to the club, you pass rows of perfectly preserved architecture lining cobblestone streets, often punctuated with views of the harbor. The reception took place in the second story dining room as well as on the rooftop terrace so guests were able to enjoy the elegant interiors as well as the wonderful skyline views. You could see so many different church steeples from the patio!
After dinner, the happy couple and their guests enjoyed treats from a pink and gold candy table, featuring monogrammed M&Ms, lollipops, macaroons, and even popcorn (for a bit of salty balance)! We love how they included little gold striped bags for guests to fill with these party favors.
Shannon had a great time capturing the celebration of this lively bunch and their Harbour Club wedding. Congratulations to Ashley and Gregory! We hope to see you in Charleston again soon!
