Lauren & Chris {The Sanctuary at Kiawah Wedding}

Over Memorial Day weekend we had the pleasure of joining Lauren and Chris for their beautiful Sanctuary at Kiawah wedding. This ocean front resort is full of luxurious interior spaces as well as stunning and sprawling grounds full of old trees and luscious gardens. Chris, an emergency room physician, and Lauren, a physician’s assistant have been working hard up north and enjoyed the relaxed pace of Charleston for their destination wedding. Friends and family came from all over the country to celebrate their union and enjoy the spoils of Kiawah Island this time of year.

The couple held their ceremony on the back lawn, surrounded by gardens and a lovely marshy waterside view. Keepsake Florist made two arrangements full of pink and while flowers and draping vines to flank the altar. These soft pastels looked great with the soft seaside in the background. Lauren looks simply amazing in her silk Lela Rose gown and we thought it perfectly suited the elegance of the Sanctuary at Kiawah Island. Take a look at the lace detail on the dress’ neckline – we love the subtle way it peeks out! Also, Brides, if you’re considering putting a flower in your hair but want it to be elegant and classy, consider Lauren’s floral accent in her up-do, which was gorgeously styled by Synergy Day Spa), for bridal hair inspiration. Bridgit did such a great job capturing the details of Lauren’s bouquet and accessories. We especially adore the unique glass box necklace she wore.

If Chris and Lauren’s day wasn’t beautiful enough, there was a touching surprise at the end of the night. Lauren’s father arranged to have a firework show over the water! Bridget captured these two enjoying the display and we are so excited to share this beautifully captured moment.
