Alli & Jorge { Gadsden House Wedding }

Cana had the privilege of photographing a lovely Gadsden House wedding for a military couple and we’re happy to share some of her experiences with you today! Alli and Jorge wanted a beautiful destination wedding and their day was absolutely breathtaking. Alli’s bridal look was flawless, comprised of a beautiful dress with a textured ribbon and sequined midriff complimented by matching shoes and a sweeping cathedral veil. Her entourage wore beautiful faded lavender gowns and were joined by one of the most adorable flower girls you will ever see. What a cutie! After some exquisite bridal portraits featuring some of the Gadsden House’s dramatic windows and a lovely outdoor chaise, it was time to meet up with Jorge at Summerall Chapel for the ceremony!

The guys rolled up in a trolley, sporting matching tuxes and incredible energy. The chapel is an iconic feature of Charleston’s Citadel University and its vaulted ceilings and rich, polished wood creates a beautiful and inviting atmosphere. The pews were capped by lit candles and boughs of lavender and roses that matched the bridal bouquet. After exchanging vows in a lovely traditional ceremony, the newlyweds exited underneath an arch of sabres from some of the Citadel’s servicemen. We love the unique portrait of the rings symbolizing the combination of matrimony and brotherhood. Then it was off to the Gadsden House for the lovely and lively reception!

One of Charleston’s most iconic historic homes, the Gadsden House features a courtyard with Southern appeal and some breathtaking interior spaces. The dining area boasted luxurious hardwood floors that perfectly complimented the all white décor for the tables and seating. The floral-candle combination was perfect for the softness of the affair and represented the couple beautifully. We love the first dance in the courtyard with the sunlight filtering through the trees and the crowd gathered around. After dining on delicious food and enjoying a stylish, monogrammed cake, everyone took to the dance floor and let their excitement of the day roam free. Soon, Alli and Jorge decided to make their escape and did so underneath dozens of sparklers held high by their friends and family. It was a fitting end to a perfect day!

Thank you both again for allowing us to share in your wedding day and all of the love and excitement that it brought! We wish you nothing but luck and happiness as you move forward together. Jorge, thank you for serving our country. Congratulations again you two!
