WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY AT THE WICKLIFFE HOUSE
ABOUT THE VENUE
If you’re looking for a gorgeous reception venue with Southern charm aplenty but firmly in the middle of bustling Downtown Charleston, then the Wickliffe House is for you! Built in 1850 during Charleston’s rice boom, the house is an architectural dream, featuring elegant and ornate rooms and a beautiful curving staircase. For a reception bordering on a state dinner, curated china and polished silver are available and add a touch of class and prestige to all occasions. The grounds are equally gorgeous and can be transformed to fit any theme or idea. Be it a fun reception with plenty of music and laughter or a classy and elegant black tie affair full of dancing and amazing food, the Wickliffe House is a perfect and versatile venue that will surely not disappoint.
WHY WE LOVE PHOTOGRAPHING AT THE WICKLIFFE HOUSE
Our love affair with the Wickliffe House lies in its deep Southern atmosphere and beautiful architecture. Everything in the house, from the ornate Federal-style rooms to the unique double miniature staircase entrance, is an opportunity for that one unique photograph. The flying staircase is a centerpiece and is ideal for bridal portraits with a lady gazing wistfully out of the window or perhaps an inspired first look as the groom sees his bride-to-be floating down to him. Our photographers live for moments like those and the Wickliffe House always impresses. As the front lawn also serves as a ceremony or reception space, we are always excited to see what neat and whimsical ideas our couples or their planners have come up with. One thing is for certain, catching a first dance under a string of lights is a magical experience and we anxiously await the opportunity to witness yours.
