Tessa & Doug { Magnolia Plantation Wedding }

Sara had the privilege of photographing a beautiful and natural Magnolia Plantation wedding. Previously, Sara photographed Tessa’s bridal portraits at the same venue and the results were gorgeous. Tessa and Doug shared their first date at trendy downtown restaurant Closed For Business and have been together ever since, enjoying each others quirky personalities and unique shared interests. For a couple that’s adventurous and not afraid to head outdoors, an outdoor Charleston wedding was perfect, especially for a couple who cut their teeth on Southern hospitality. Beginning with the sweet first look pictures on a scenic bridge, Sara featured the beautiful Southern setting. After a few portraits with the entire wedding party having fun, off they went to the gorgeous waterside grove for the ceremony.

The ceremony itself was simple but splendid. Standing in front of family and friends, Tessa and Doug couldn’t help but continue to chuckle with one another and kept the smiles even when sharing their first kiss as newlyweds. For their portraits, Sara took them through the gardens and to the tree where she and Tessa had a few of her bridal photos. The two were completely wrapped up in one another, and Sara was able to capture a relaxed and happy couple. After a few more moments to capture those perfect photos, it was off to the reception hall for their awaiting guests, food and fun!

While the beauty of the wedding rested in its surroundings, the charm existed purely in the details. From the croquet green to the Jenga game guestbook at the ceremony, to the chalkboards and lines of pictures at the reception, the entire day mirrored the fun personalities of the newlyweds. The reception hall was elegantly decorated with white draping juxtaposing beautifully with the natural wood floors and ceilings, with bright floral centerpieces adding a shock of color. After a delicious meal and rich cake courtesy of Duvall Catering, the duo shared their first dance before the party really started. Hours later, underneath a trail of sparklers, Tessa and Doug ended their reception hand-in-hand, headed off for more adventures together.
