Shannon & Riley { Marion’s in the French Quarter Wedding }

We are so excited to share this chic and colorful Marion’s in the French Quarter wedding with you today!  Emily M. ventured to the historic Charleston peninsula for a lively wedding reception of Shannon and Riley.  The newlyweds had exchanged vows in Costa Rica, and they wanted to have a party for their friends and family in Charleston.  The couple envisioned their day to include some beautiful portraits around the Holy City, and then dancing the night away with their loved ones in the heart of the historic quarter.

We are obsessed with Shannon’s style.  She in a knockout in her mermaid gown with lace straps, and we can’t decide which we love more – her rocking leather jacket or beautiful fur bolero!  When in doubt, go with both!  We are also swooning over that amazing jewel and floral headpiece.  Her maids look equally chic in their beaded champagne gowns, while Riley is dashing in his gray linen vest and pants.

Self-proclaimed as a non-traditional couple, and a having been a wedding planner for 6 years in Charleston, Shannon was looking for unique Charleston portraits.  Emily was up for the challenge and she found a colorful graffiti wall and a rooftop terrace with beautiful cityscape views.

Marion’s in the French Quarter is located in historic downtown Charleston.  It is a perfect southern event space, surrounded by charming cobblestone streets, and just steps away from waterfront views of the harbor.  We love the geode theme Shannon and Riley created with beautiful magentas, purples, and teals incorporated into their unique centerpieces.  We love the colorful taper candles, gold geometric terrariums filled with brightly colored flowers, and bold geodes.  Be sure to check out their amazing geode cake!  Their day was complete with a night full of dancing surrounded by those they love.

This chic and whimsical wedding just makes our hearts happy, and we want to thank Shannon and Riley for allowing us to capture their special day!  Best wishes for the future!
