Rebecca & Jake { Society Hall Wedding }

Earlier this spring, Cana ventured downtown for a colorful and lively Society Hall wedding and we’re elated to share her experiences with you today! South Carolina’s Society Hall showcases some of Charleston’s iconic Federal architecture popularized in the 1800s and featuring an open and welcoming space perfect for weddings and receptions. Rebecca and Jake’s gorgeous day featured lots of the city’s famed southern charm intertwined with their fun personalities, resulting in a party atmosphere tinged in the airy simplicity of southern living. Rebecca’s dress fit the day beautifully. An A-line dream accented with lace, the gown was coupled with blush-colored open toed heels adorned with a bow. Needless to say, the bride was absolutely stunning.

On the way to Summerall Chapel for the ceremony, Rebecca spent time with her bridesmaids aboard a vintage trolley. The unique streetcar added a touch of whimsy to such a gorgeous day. Jake waited patiently at the end of the aisle with the chapel’s stained glass filtering the afternoon light behind him. His classic tux was the perfect compliment to Rebecca’s ensemble, and they looked amazing together as they exchanged their vows. After tying the knot and mingling with their family and friends, the duo headed off with Cana for newlywed portraits. Secluded alleys and paths were the idyllic backgrounds that matched the day’s low country charm. Our newlyweds were all smiles, barely able to look away from one another for their pictures.

One of Society Hall’s ballrooms was transformed with cafe tables adorned with white linens and light blue ribbons. Votives on mirrors sent sparkles across the room and added a romantic glow as the sun began to set. Details are often lost in the grandeur of the day, but we adore the unique guestbook and monogrammed koozies. Heading back in from their portraits, Rebecca and Jake treated their guests to a beautiful first dance and barely left each other’s side all night. Drinks and delicious food crafted by Hamby Catering and Ashley Bakery were everywhere and the guests enjoyed the delicacies while catching up or making new friends. Before the newlyweds lost the daylight, it was time to make a hasty getaway – IN A PEDICAB! With their family and friends cheering them on and waving goodbye, Rebecca and Jake headed off to find new adventures in the early Spring sunset.
