Morgan & Andy { Atalaya Castle Wedding }

Amanda recently ventured north to Murrels Inlet for a unique Atalaya Castle wedding, and we’re very happy to share her experiences with you today!  Atalaya Castle is in Huntington Beach State Park and aside from the stunning architecture throughout the building itself, the surrounding waterfront is the perfect location for an outdoor wedding with a historical feel.  First meeting at UNC and finally connecting years later, Morgan and Andy survived the perils of long distances and finally stood with one another in the middle of a beautiful and rustic, beach-inspired wedding.  Morgan’s airy, flowing gown was perfect for the vintage feel of the day, complimented beautifully by a lush rose bouquet and floral crown.  Andy was quite handsome himself in his three piece suit, waiting anxiously for his beautiful bride to make her grand entrance.

One of Atalaya Castle’s ornate walls with spaced grey brick, combined with lovely floral accents and deep brown chairs, was the breathtaking locale for a perfect ceremony.  After exchanging vows and saying those two magic words, Morgan and Andy left with their hands in the air.  Amanda chose some of the castle’s more rustic and beautiful nooks and crannies for the newlywed portraits, including some of the iconic exposed brick and a stunning arched breezeway flanked by gorgeous flowers.  We absolutely adore the time spent on the beach as well as Morgan looked positively divine in the late afternoon sun.

Back at the castle, the reception awaited.  The couple’s desire for a rustic and vintage atmosphere was realized with beautiful rose centerpieces in Mason jars lining luxurious brown tables.  The polished wood, with votive candles and the floral arrangements, created a stunning feel that captured a deeply southern feel.  The romantic glow of cafe string lights coursed throughout the venue as the sun set, adding something golden and wonderful to all of the laughter and dancing. Then, with sparklers lighting their way, the newlyweds stole away into the night, departing on vintage bicycles and sharing one last kiss.

Morgan and Andy, thank you both so much for the privilege of capturing your gorgeous day.  Your infectious personalities were impossible to not fall in love with and we wish you both success and happiness as you return to the west coast.  Congratulations again!
