Lizzy & Matthew { Dunes House Wedding }

Though two hours south of Charleston, Hilton Head Island has all of the southern charm of the Holy City mixed with a resort atmosphere.  A Dunes House wedding with a calm sea breeze in the air is always a gorgeous affair, and we’d like to share Amanda’s recent adventure to the island with you today!  Lizzy and Matthew envisioned a non-stop intimate party for their nuptials and that’s what we were treated to.  Lizzy was a knockout in her Lillian West gown with softly draped English net.  An ethereal bouquet of white and pale pink roses completed with lamb’s ear made for a stunning ensemble.  Matthew was no slouch himself in his open vested blue suit with personalized cuff links.

The weather on the Carolina coast is always unpredictable, but they didn’t let that stop them from having their first look as planned.  The expression on Matthew’s face when he saw Lizzy mirrored ours – simply wow.  They held onto one another and took in the moment before the coming ceremony.  Their smiles were infectious and that energy remained throughout the wedding.

A spacious open-air deck of the Dunes House was the perfect location for their intimate ceremony.  Strung lights, chic lanterns and candles created an inviting atmosphere for the guests.  Lizzy and Matthew exchanged the sacred words with the island’s beautiful nature in the background and shared a kiss to make it official.  If their smiles were infectious before, now they were dazzling.  While their guests filtered out to grab a cocktail and reconnect, the newlyweds joined Amanda for portraits.  They stopped for a few moments among some greenery before heading to a beach nearby.  The iron skies couldn’t stop them from shining as they danced on the sands and held onto one another.  We live for moments like those and were so blessed to have caught these.

Their reception can be best described as chic, playful, and classy.  The gold accents combined with the green and glass for a sparkly and natural feel.  Everyone adored the party favors and place holders.  Cheers indeed!  Their guestbook was incredibly inspired – encouraging guests to take pictures and leave notes inside.  We look forward to the little details like this that really make a wedding unique.  Not far away, on the dance floor that Lizzy wanted to stretch to the walls, everyone was letting loose and celebrating.  It was a fitting end to a gorgeous day.

Thank you two for inviting us in for such a fun experience.  We wish you nothing but the best as you two move forward together.  Congratulations again!
