Katie & Zac { Cottage on the Creek Wedding }

Charleston Harbor offers many amazing views for countless venues but the area’s freshwater channels are also famous for their beauty.  A Cottage on the Creek wedding features breathtaking views of Shem Creek and the distinctive low country atmosphere of the area.  Bridgit headed to Mount Pleasant to the Cottage for Katie and Zac’s beautiful wedding celebration, and we’re stoked to share her experiences with you.  She met up with the bridal party as Katie was finishing up her bridal ensemble.  A beautiful lace bodice gave way to a chiffon skirt with a silk ribbon around the midriff.  Paired with pink slip-ons adorned with bows, the bridal look was absolute perfection.  Bridgit snapped a few bridal portraits around the historic house.  We especially love those of Katie on the porch.  The worn wood floor and white columns and ceiling enveloped her in a bright, welcoming atmosphere.

Beneath live oaks some ways away, Zac spent time with his family and groomsmen.  He was incredibly handsome in his black tux and looked ready to go when it was time for the ceremony.  St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church was a gorgeous locale for the nuptials, with the painted murals and vaulted ceiling.  Though we weren’t able to get too close, the upper level portraits gave us a different view at the duo as they exchanged their vows.  A quick kiss and a quick cheer later and it was official.  Time to PARTY!  And what better way to show up to your reception on the water than by boat?  Despite the light rain that fell off and on throughout the day, the newlyweds’ spirits couldn’t be dampened.  Their smiles shone through in their newlywed portraits on a private dock overlooking the marsh.

The reception was a lively affair in shades of pink and blue.  The polished wood floor reflected a warm glow throughout the room, creating the perfect romantic atmosphere.  As the night wore on, the party ramped up and we love the amount of energy in the room.  Everyone danced, drank, and enjoyed delicious food long into the evening before Katie and Zac were ready to make their getaway.  A boat awaited to whisk them away to their next adventure, with their guests cheering them on.
