Jessica & Michael { Johns Island Engagement Portraits }

Emily headed slightly west of Charleston for some beautiful Johns Island engagement portraits. Away from the bustling Downtown streets, Johns Island features deep Southern charm and seemingly endless natural beauty. We love the fun portraits we took of Jessica and Michael near his family home! Jessica looks lovely in her printed blue dress and white wedge heels complimented by Michael’s casual denim and t-shirt look. They are a very outdoorsy couple and were adamant about capturing their engagement portraits in the beautiful surroundings where Michael proposed.

Emily sought to use Johns Island’s scenic vistas to frame the photos and we’re loving the moss and waterfront portraits she captured. The duo couldn’t stay out of each others arms and who can blame them? They look so very happy! We always look forward to being with couples who want to involve their furry family members and are excited that Jessica and Michael chose to include their adorable dogs. The gorgeous photographs underneath the Spanish moss are that much more personal with their pups being with them. Venturing down a quiet path overlooking the serene water, the two held onto one another, just being in the moment. The energy they brought to the day was great (look at that lift!) and we’re so glad that they were game for experimenting with the portraiture.
