Cana had the opportunity to photograph Jenna’s Boone Hall Plantation bridal portraits and we are excited to share them with you! Located just outside of Charleston in beautiful Mount Pleasant, Boone Hall is one of the south’s oldest and well preserved plantations and offers breathtaking views, manicured grounds, the in-demand Cotton Dock area and a seasonal cotton field. For Jenna’s portraits, Cana chose to highlight the plantation’s natural and architectural elements like the ironwork gate and awe-inspiring oak trees by Horlbeck Creek. By focusing on the classic simplicity of the grounds, Cana allowed the bride and her gorgeous gown to be the spotlight. An off-the-shoulder, A-line gown, Jenna’s choice for her wedding dress was light and airy, form fitting in the bodice and flowing from the waist. An ornate belt and simple veil were perfect compliments.
Not long after the bridal session, Jenna married Wade in a midlands South Carolina wedding surrounded by their family and friends. The ceremony was a traditional church affair and the couple was framed by gorgeous stained glass windows and deep purple tapestries. Afterwards, the newlyweds posed for portraits on the church grounds before heading to the O’Donnell House for the reception. Decorated in neutrals of creams, pinks and light oranges that matched Jenna’s bouquet, the house exemplified southern charm. The ornate wood and cast iron fireplace held a festive monogrammed centerpiece. After an impromptu dance-off during their first twirl around the dance floor as newlyweds, Jenna and Wade shared the floor with their friends and family for the remainder of the evening. Cana perfectly captured all of the fun of the evening, including the newlyweds’ sparkler exit into an awaiting custom open air pickup.
