Holly & Nick { Downtown Charleston Engagement Session }

We are excited to share this lovely Downtown Charleston engagement session that Shannon photographed! This wonderful couple will exchange vows next spring at the historic First Baptist Church in Downtown Charleston. Nick is a Kentucky native while Holly is a local Charlestonian. Aside from her immediate family, the majority of guests will be from out-of-town, making this a festive destination wedding. It is only fitting that the wedding will be a Southern-themed occasion imbued with the charm and deep spirituality that characterizes The Holy City. The couple wants their love and passion for Christ to be the theme of the wedding from their traditional sanctuary ceremony to their celebration at Francis Marion Hotel.

Self-described as goofy and fun, Holly and Nick were lighthearted and romantic during the session, and it shows in their portraits. Shannon took them to several tucked-away spots throughout the city and the couple looked wonderful in front of such natural backdrops as the iconic Charleston wrought iron and aged brickwork. We especially love the photo of Holly and Nick looking into each others’ eyes with a beautiful ornate gate behind them. The couple began in chic attire perfect for strolling through the streets of Charleston.  Holly’s sundress is perfectly airy and offers a great pop of color. The session ended with the couple playfully lounging in the grass at Waterfront Park, completely lost in one another. The sweet kiss on the forehead was a beautiful ending to a charming engagement session.

Holly and Nick, best of luck as you finish your undergraduate careers and we anxiously await your return next Spring for your wedding!
