Emily & Ross { Mingo Point Wedding }

Emily had the opportunity to photograph a lovely Mingo Point wedding and we’re excited to share some lovely moments from the wedding! Mingo Point is on beautiful Kiawah Island about an hour’s drive south from Charleston and features beautiful waterfront vistas. This gorgeous, southern-themed wedding day began with the bride, also an Emily, getting ready along with her bridesmaids. Her stunning cap sleeve lace dress was perfectly complimented with an embellished satin belt. We love Emily’s first look with her father. His reaction to seeing his daughter as a blushing bride is such a sweet moment. Soon after, Emily headed outdoors for some gorgeous bridal portraits. She looked wonderful against natural flora.

The ceremony took place on a dock and featured rich wooden chairs, beautiful bouquets in Mason jars and wicker fans for the guests. Emily met Ross underneath a beautiful arbor adorned with roses and they were wed with the marsh in the distance. The newlyweds posed for portraits beneath tall oaks, holding onto one another smiling. Framed by the trees and holding hands, they were the epitome of happiness. Then the pair headed to their outdoor reception to celebrate with their wonderful beginning as husband and wife with loved ones.

Several yards from the dock is an open pine straw area and a rustic pavilion perfect for receptions. We simply adore the soft tablescapes featuring pink roses, hydrangea, and berries. Gold accents help round out a warmer palette with regal sophistication. The event mirrored a perfect outdoor Southern soiree with strands of cafe lights illuminating the sky and hosting a delectable oyster roast. We love the image of Emily and Ross touching oyster shells in a playful portrait. After dinner, the couple shared their first dance and a few guests gave toasts to the newlyweds, inciting laughter and some tears. As the sun sank deeper on the horizon, Emily and Ross took time to sit together on a wooden swing before strolling to a nearby dock. With their time at the reception drawing to a close, they stopped for a quick kiss along a sparkler lit path before hopping in a vintage white car to head off into their night.
