Dara & Gene { Wild Dunes Wedding }

Amanda had the privilege of capturing a beautiful Wild Dunes wedding and we’re excited to share some of our favorite moments from Dara & Gene’s day! Wild Dunes is a popular island resort just north of Charleston in Isle of Palms and features gorgeous beaches and world-renowned golfing. The day began with a quick look at Dara as she was getting ready. Her silky vintage style gown was gorgeous, with a delicate lace detail along the train complimenting the beadwork perfectly. The couple’s first look was an intimate affair on a secluded path surrounded by island foliage. Dara and Gene spent time holding onto one another and enjoying a few moments together before heading to the beach for the ceremony.

The ceremony site was simple yet had all of the grace of a Charleston wedding. Guests were invited to sit together regardless of whom they knew and were provided refreshments in the late summer heat. The aisle chairs were adorned with burlap and lace ribbons and baby’s breath. Baby’s breath also filled vases at the back of the aisle completing a white theme which made the blue of the ocean in the distance more pronounced. After exchanging vows, Dara and Gene enjoyed the natural surroundings. Their first portraits as newlyweds perfectly capture the love these two share.

Guests gathered and mingled while enjoying cocktails in a nearby courtyard before entering the beautifully decorated reception hall for dinner. Centerpieces with a soft floral design of white and pink complimented the glittered table numbers and rustic burlap runners, capturing the airy and casual nature of the event. In what was a rather fun-loving affair, the bride and groom danced and laughed with their family and friends, and even joined in on the Slow-Motion-Camera Photo Booth fun that had all of the guests celebrating in style.
