Ashley & Cole { Gadsden House Wedding }

Charleston’s historic houses blend period architecture and interior design with touches of modern flair to create amazing weddings perfect for any theme.  A Gadsden House wedding showcases some of Charleston’s finest Federal architecture and a private courtyard that’s simply gorgeous.  Ashley and Cole envisioned an ‘al fresco affair’ for their wedding day, and the house was the perfect location for the natural feel and whimsical details they incorporated.  Cana met up with the bridal party while they bustled about getting Ashley ready to go.  Her lace-accented gown was so beautiful and complimented perfectly by white and gold sandals.  We love that she and Cole shared a first look.  Isn’t he handsome in his vibrant blue suit and subtle pink tie?  The two of them looked amazing together as they walked around the Gadsden House grounds.

Outside in the courtyard, guests were gathering in dark wooden chairs with ferns at the end of each row.  The fern-lined aisle fit beautifully with the rest of the surroundings.  Everyone was handed fan programs to help combat the summer day.  When Ashley made her way down the aisle, a few tears were shed and, like us, everyone fell completely in love.  She and Cole incorporated the eternity knot into their vows and after literally tying the knot, they sealed everything up with a sweet kiss and it was time to party!

A subtle palette of pale pinks, creams, and white transformed the reception space into a bright, welcoming atmosphere.  Warm wood accents were scattered around the room, and we love the lush floral centerpieces speckled here and there.  The sunlight flooding through the tall windows glinted off of the glass and gold, creating a shimmer that spread throughout the hall.  With the sun fading, the courtyard became the hub of activity as string lights created a romantic glow under which many dances were had.  Before long, Ashley and Cole were itching to find some trouble to get into so they stole off into the night beneath a shower of sparklers.

Thank you both again for bringing us along for what turned out to be such a beautiful day.  We wish you health and happiness in the many years to come!  Congratulations!
