Katelyn & Ben { William Aiken House Wedding }

Priscilla was downtown recently for a beautiful William Aiken House wedding and we’re pleased to share her experiences with you today!  Charleston’s historic homes make gorgeous wedding venues and the William Aiken House is no exception with its period architecture, gorgeous outdoor space, and southern feel.  For Katelyn and Ben, it was the perfect place for their timeless wedding.  Katelyn was absolutely stunning in her strapless Vera Wang gown with ruffled train and silver jeweled belt at the waist.  Embellished Jimmy Choo shoes and an aquamarine pendant completed her breathtaking attire.  She exuded elegance as she ventured to the courtyard to meet with Ben for their first look.

The groom was very handsome in his traditional blue tux accented with a Brackish bow tie.  Ben was awestruck when he laid eyes on Katelyn for the first time.  Their smiles shone as they took in the moment beneath the pergola where they’d exchange vows in just a short while.  Despite the possibility of a snag or a tangle, the two were adventurous enough to climb up into brush for some beautiful portraits against one of the grounds’ oak trees.  Afterwards, the wedding party wanted in on the action and everyone was laughing and cutting up before the end, excited for the ceremony that was about to begin.

Cafe lights radiated out from the altar, keeping watch over the guests gathering in the chairs below.  Katelyn and Ben’s fur-baby, Teddy, roamed around greeting guests before joining the flower girl and ring bearer as they made their way down the aisle. We love the flower girl’s gold sparkly shoes and white headband – super cute!  After Katelyn made her way down the aisle, wowing the crowd in the process, Ben and she shared their vows beneath a crystal chandelier.  Then, with a quick kiss and a sweet embrace, they were announced as husband and wife and it was time to get to partying!

Tables covered in cornflower blue and white linens complimented perfectly with the natural wood chairs.  We simply adore the gorgeous centerpieces that included such floral classics as white hydrangea, spray and patience roses, and frizzle tulips.  These all-white florals paired with a mix of natural greeneries of silver dollar eucalyptus and bay leaf created an airy and timeless atmosphere.  Guests were treated to a signature cocktail called The Teddy – inspired by the couple’s lovable pup.  The crowd was scattered throughout the house and grounds as the reception got into full swing, and we loved the hi-energy during the night.  The laughing never stopped and the dance floor stayed packed thanks to Atlanta Rhythm & Groove band.  Katelyn and Ben concluded their wedding celebration with an on-stage dance before departing under an arc of sparklers.

Thank you so much for bringing us along for all of the festivities during your wedding week.  We had such a blast during the bridal luncheon, rehearsal dinner, and all during your wedding day.  You guys are awesome!
