The William Aiken House is a National Historic Landmark in the heart of Downtown Charleston. The grounds of this 18th century home are charming, from the garden and carriage house to the many exquisitely decorated rooms in the main house. Its cheerful yellow facade overlooks bustling King Street and couldn’t be better located. Why we love photographing at The William Aiken House

Taking portraits in the ornately decorated rooms is so much fun. There aren’t many places where you can be photographed on an 18th century couch in a room decorated with original, museum quality art work and antiques. The grounds are beautifully kept and there are a variety of places to hold your ceremony outdoors. We also love the vibrant energy that comes with being on King Street which is lined with shops, restaurants and bars – all in beautifully preserved buildings.
