Sara & John { Charleston Battery Engagement }

Our photographers always look forward to Charleston Battery engagement portraits as the harbor and the waterfront views are second to none.  The surrounding streets offer plenty of that iconic Charleston charm and White Point Gardens’ live oaks create a fairytale background for magical moments.  Emily had the pleasure of spending an afternoon with Sara and John as they celebrated their engagement and we’re excited to share her favorite moments with you today!  Sara was so, so beautiful in a pair of jeans and white blouse while John rocked khakis, a baby blue button-up and navy blazer.  Together, they were a ton of fun and just exuded energy.

Emily found a lovely cobblestone lane to start their journey and snapped away as they held hands and talked about anything and everything.  Ivy surrounding a brick archway added a rustic, natural feel to a few portraits and we like how the worn bricks brought out the blues in the couple’s wardrobe.  As they ventured, John pulled Sara into his arms several times for a little twirl and a peck here and there.  The duo was infectious!  Hurricane lanterns and pastels were pretty but we love the vintage black car with the pop of red on the rims.  Leaning against it, Sara and John redefined cool and shared a unique moment perfect for those save-the-dates.  Finally they ended up at the Battery, hand-in-hand, staring out into the fading sun as it glittered over the harbor.  With lots of laughs, lots of love and endless energy, this is certainly a portrait session we won’t soon forget.
