Lauren & Peter { Oak Point Plantation Wedding }

Lauren and Peter’s Oak Point Plantation wedding was about as romantic as it gets. A private residence on the Stono River, Oak Point Plantation is a dreamy wedding venue covered in mossy oak trees and long views of the river and golden marsh.  These Charleston residents picked well when it came to the designer of their wedding look.  Family friend, Suzanne Strehle, did a stunning job.  The ceremony was set under majestic oak trees that overlooked the water. Lining the aisle were white flower petals, ribbon and rose draped chairs, and planters of luscious greenery. At the end of the aisle was a gorgeous arbor with a colorful floral arrangement that took our breath away! Even the oak tree branches were covered in flower garlands. The wedding was accented with purple – from Lauren’s bridesmaids to the reception table linens. All this rich purple paired beautifully with the colorful flowers on the tables and the gold accents in the vintage china.

Lauren was radiant in her strapless lacy ballgown. With a luxuriously long veil and her romantic up-do she matched the drama and femininity of the decor perfectly. Oh and her bouquet was marvelous; bursting full of color and greenery! Peter looked so handsome in his grey suit and Brackish Bow Tie. We also love his boutonniere that included lavender and lamb’s ear.

After the ceremony, Jeanne took these two for portraits around Oak Point Plantation‘s beautiful grounds and we love the shots! Lauren made us swoon by donning her wedding day fur! And the portraits of them sitting in a chair just look wonderfully formal in a vintage way, yet still classic. After some dancing a dinner Jeanne snagged the happy couple again for more portraits on the dock and in front of the sunset. Swoon.
