Emily had the pleasure of capturing this sweet Downtown Charleston engagement session and we are excited to share the images with you today! The historic Charleston peninsula is always a favorite spot to wander with our couples. There are endless photogenic spots around every corner, from gorgeous and overflowing flower boxes to iconic ironwork, dripping oak trees, cobblestone streets and magical alleys. Kirby and Land’s vision for their engagement session was timeless and romantic. They love downtown Charleston and all the historic homes, beautiful architecture and cobblestone streets! The couple were also hoping to include some sailboats and portraits near the water.
Emily met up with Kirby and Land and the couple were definitely dressed to impress. We love Kirby’s raspberry colored crochet dress paired with nude pumps and Land’s bright blue suit coat. The rich hues compliment perfectly. Their session started among some beautiful ironwork fences and sprawling oak trees, perfect for some romantic portraits. We love the alleys and doorways Emily found for the couple to pose in, so full of that southern Charleston Charm!
After a quick wardrobe change, Kirby and Land both went for a stylish casual look. Kirby traded in her dress for some dark denim jeans and crisp white blouse and we just love her peep toe boots! Emily brought the couple to the edge of the peninsula and found plenty of sailboats at the Charleston Marina to incorporate into the backdrop. We can’t help but gush over these dreamy images. With the sky starting to turn a little pink and all the beautiful sails in the background, Kirby and Land sure look like they had a blast snuggling up surrounded by sailboats. Emily did an amazing job capturing these two lovebirds!
We want to thank Kirby and Land for allowing us to capture these special moments, and we look forward to documenting your wedding this fall!
