Emily ventured to Sullivan’s Island for a gorgeous Sand Dunes Club wedding, and we’re elated to finally be able to share our favorite moments with you. We were blessed to have been so involved in the lead up to Jessica and Michael’s wedding day, capturing their engagement portraits and getting to see the beautiful bride in her gorgeous dress for a portrait session at Charles Towne Landing! For their wedding, the couple wanted to celebrate their relationship in classic wedding fashion with a formal ceremony followed by a reception with rustic charm. Emily caught up with Jessica as she was putting the finishing touches to her beautiful bridal ensemble, featuring a lovely mermaid gown with sequined belt, blue heels and a lovely pearl necklace. Michael looked all kinds of handsome in his Marine dress blues with full decoration, taking a few moments to pose for pictures before heading inside of the church to await Jessica’s arrival.
St. Luke’s Chapel on Ashley Avenue in downtown Charleston was the perfect location for their classic ceremony. The ornate vaulted ceilings and wide stained glass window created a bright, classic atmosphere for their vows. Smiling the entire time, the two said their “I dos” and sealed it with a kiss. Then it was off to the beach for food and fun by the waves. The Sand Dunes Club’s front porch was a perfect setting for some newlywed portraits and we love the way the duo looked in such a light and rustic atmosphere. Emily took them along the beach and down some paths by the water for even more gorgeous photos. Being outdoor enthusiasts, Jessica and Michael were looking forward to spending some of their picture time in the sun and we are happy the weather cooperated!
Inside the club, cornflower blue and white was abundant, from the tablecloths to the centerpieces, creating a lush and inviting atmosphere for the newlyweds and their guests. The sunflower seeds were a nice touch and a great way for their guests to remember the fun couple and the wonderful wedding day they shared. Jessica and Michael entered to applause and shared their first dance to Blake Shelton’s “God Gave Me You.” For their theme and the feel of the day, a modern country classic was the perfect choice. They danced with their guests throughout the afternoon but soon it was time for them to head on to the next stop in their adventure together. With bubbles floating all around, they made their way to the awaiting getaway car, stopping for one more kiss in the sun.
We would like to thank you both again for choosing us to be with you every step of the way from engagement portraits to the last moments on the steps of the Sand Dunes Club. It was a great experience and we wish you both nothing but the best as you move forward in this life together. Congratulations again!
