Jennifer & Drew { Charleston Newborn Portraits }

Aside from the wonderful weddings, engagements, bridal shoots and family portraits that we take part in, we are always excited to work with expectant couples for maternity and newborn portraits.  Emily had the privilege of capturing some Charleston newborn portraits with an amazing couple.  We’ve enjoyed being a part of Jennifer and Drew’s love story.  The studio first met the couple for their engagement portraits and we also documented their stunning wedding at Boone Hall Plantation a few years ago.  At the beginning of 2016, Emily met Jennifer and Drew as the couple returned to Boone Hall for a maternity session. And now we’re elated to share some highlights from their growing family as Jennifer and Drew welcomed their baby boy to the world!  In most of the portraits, he slept soundly, his adorable chubby cheeks and little chin poking out – so so cute.  We love that the family opted for a lifestyle portraiture approach where Emily could spend some time with them and little man in their home.  Lifestyle portraiture offers an authentic way to document daily life.  Along with some lovely candids we do snag some of those classic portraits that we know every family wants captured. We especially love the portrait of their newborn holding mommy’s finger – it’s a moment no mother forgets.  The little guy just looks so snug cradled in his parents’ arms!

The best aspect of newborn portraits (aside from the insane amount of cute bundled up) is that the parents can be creative and inventive in how they want their little one presented.  From comic book heroes to color-coordinated ensembles at sunset, the setting and theme is customizable and the options are limitless.  Jennifer and Drew wanted everything to be about the precious little guy between them, and we’re so lucky to have been able to capture his little personality in full swing.
