How the eye sees

Alan Kesselhaut recently taught a class at B&H Event Space about HDR photography. What I found most interesting about the class was his slide (see below) that explains how the eye sees. He basically said the eye naturally goes to certain elements in an image first, then scans across picking up other details, and then back again. Over and over. Keeping these points in mind as you are taking a photo and especially in post-processing is valuable! What do you think?
