Shannon headed downtown for a fantastic Francis Marion wedding, and we’re happy to be able to share her experiences with you today! The Francis Marion Hotel is in the heart of downtown and features beautiful spaces perfect for those couples who want a distinct Charleston feel to their wedding. The Charleston atmosphere is what Holly and Nick wanted for their guests, the majority of whom were travelling in from out of state. We previously spent time with this wonderful couple taking their engagement portraits, which can be seen here. Shannon’s day began with Holly as she was busily putting the finishing touches on her beautiful bridal ensemble. Her gorgeous dress featured a textured lace bodice speckled with silver beads with a matching beaded belt. She looked stunning standing in the window, looking out into our wonderful city. Not far away, Nick sported a stylish tux and waited anxiously for his bride to arrive.
The First Baptist Church on Meeting Street hosted the ceremony. With its high-vaulted ceilings and white and polished wood decor, the sanctuary is perfect for a sophisticated Christian ceremony. After exchanging their vows and walking through a line of streamers, Holly and Nick spent a little time with their wedding party. The bridesmaids were gorgeous in their dark blue dresses with beautiful white rose bouquets, complimented by dapper groomsmen in tuxes matching blue bowties and vests. The newlyweds took a few portraits together but they were so excited to spend their reception with their family and friends. It was off to the Francis Marion Hotel!
When thinking of venues that epitomize the charms of Charleston, few places are as perfect as the Francis Marion. With its period architecture, sophisticated decor and amazing food from the Swamp Fox, it is an ideal spot for Charleston-themed weddings. Holly and Nick’s reception was a festival of white and light. The tables were set with white linens and dramatic white centerpieces. The delectable cakes from DeClare were beautiful, simply white with flowers accenting the layers. After enjoying the dinner provided by Francis Marion, everyone took to the floor and danced the night away to Swing On! and their fun, upbeat sound. In the middle of it all, Holly and Nick just held onto one another knowing that forever was just getting started.
Thank you for allowing us to take part in the journey to your wedding day. We’re blessed to have captured as many wonderful moments as we have. We wish you an amazing life together. Congratulations again and God bless you.
