Katie & Michael { Cannon Green Wedding }

Charleston’s historic houses and beautiful parks make for excellent wedding venues, but we always love photographing fun weddings in unique spaces.  A recent Cannon Green wedding featured a lovely first look, splendid ceremony in a romantic courtyard, and a lively reception, which Emily M. was present to document.  She met up with bride-to-be Katie who was busy readying herself for the day.  A lovely strapless mermaid style wedding gown was complimented beautifully by vivid blue Manolo Blahnik shoes and an ornate collar length necklace.  Katie was absolutely stunning!

Waiting patiently on a path admits the oaks of Hampton Park, Michael was a vision of cool in his blue suit and slate grey tie.  His face lit up when he turned to greet Katie for their first look.  They held onto one another just thrilled to be together.  We were even treated to a little dancing far before the reception as Michael twirled Katie to get a complete view of his elegant bride.  They looked so happy spinning beneath the oaks strewn with Spanish moss.  Emily took this time to capture sweet moments between the couple as they explored the various landscapes of Hampton Park.

Back at Cannon Green, the guests awaited the start of the ceremony.  The courtyard was lined with white chairs and white fabric draped the outdoor arbor, creating a light and airy atmosphere.  Katie and Michael exchanged their vows beneath the ivy covered arbor, reciting the sacred words, and sealing it with a quick kiss. For them, it was certainly time to do some celebrating!

After a few more newlywed portraits on a gorgeous spiral staircase, the duo rejoined their guests in Cannon Green’s private dining space.  The crisp white linens were dotted with votives and vibrant centerpieces featuring red and pink roses and natural greenery such as seeded eucalyptus.  The design made for a stunning natural feel with a romantic glow.  The warm wood floors saw plenty of dances that night beneath the golden lights.  Everyone danced, drank, and dined to their heart’s content and partied long into the night, celebrating love in its purest form.
