Anna & Nicholas { City Art Gallery Wedding }

Jeanne ventured an hour and a half northwards to Columbia to photograph a stylish and fun City Art Gallery wedding. Anna and Nicholas are budding medical professionals with a playful love for one another, and their dog Simon of course. They wanted their wedding to be simple and romantic yet fun and joyous and it turned out to be all of those things and more! The day began with Anna getting ready surrounded by some close family and friends. Her gown was beautiful and flowy, with elegant lace embellished shoulders. Anna was simply stunning. The bridesmaids’ dresses were each unique yet staying in the color palette of reds, pinks and neutrals. Everyone bouquet was an eclectic design of vibrant florals with sunflowers as the main feature.

The couple’s Catholic ceremony at St. Joseph Church on Devine Street was simply lovely. The vaulted ceilings and pointed arches provided an atmosphere of grandeur and splendor to the proceedings. Anna was stunning as she walked down the aisle and Nicholas couldn’t wait to have her by his side. After sharing their first kiss as a new couple, Anna and Nicholas joined Jeanne on the church steps for some beautiful portrait. We especially love the images in the arched breezeway. Then it was off to City Art Gallery for food and fun with family and friends.

City Art Gallery is a beautiful space with exposed brick that is open and inviting yet intimate, which is perfect for a wedding reception! The modern art adorning the walls brought a unique feel to the event and complimented both the subtle earthy tones of the décor and the bright flowers sprinkled throughout. The newlyweds entered the reception underneath an arch of bouquets held by the bridesmaids and there were smiles and tears all around. They danced to a special song that Nicholas had kept a secret from Anna and she was laughing throughout it all. In lieu of cake the couple opted to share a slice of delicious pie. As the festivities winded down, the couple made their farewell in a vintage car.

Anna made it a point to put joy at the center of their celebration and it was indeed one of the most joyous days we have ever had the pleasure of capturing. Congratulations again to the two of you and we hope that your future is bright and fruitful!
