Bridgit recently photographed on Johns Island for a lovely Oak Point Plantation wedding and we’re happy to share some of our favorite moments with you today! Resting on the Stono River and featuring all of the natural beauty of the Charleston area, Oak Point is a gorgeous venue perfect for a classy outdoor wedding. Jaime and Billy grew up in separate worlds, north of Boston and Wadmalaw Island, SC respectively, and met through a mutual friend. Their adventurous personalities shined through in their gorgeous, classic wedding day, beginning with Jaime putting the finishing touches on her bridal look. She is simply stunning in her lace gown complimented by a sparkling silver belt and lavender, peek-toe wedges. Billy was sharp in his grey suit and classy leather watch.
The riverfront ceremony featured beautiful, white floral arrangements in hanging baskets and one of the most adorable flower girls ever rolling down the aisle in her own wagon! A breathtaking oak adorned with Spanish moss provided a fantastic backdrop as Jaime and Billy exchanged vows. After sharing their first kiss, they were whisked away by Bridgit for a few portraits with the wedding party. We love the grey, white and lavender palette with splashes of yellow in the bouquets. The newlyweds were all smiles as they posed for a few traditional portraits and then they walked along a row of azalea bushes in bloom.
As most of her family and friends are from New England, Jaime and Billy wanted their wedding to capture the essence of everything Charleston. The riverfront venue and ceremony decorations were both beautiful snapshots of ‘Charleston’ and we loved their beautiful, Southern reception. Charleston in the springtime features mild days and cool nights so an open-air pavilion atmosphere for the festivities was perfect. We love the soft lighting against the white of the ceiling, both casting subtle glow on the wood dance floor below. Tall tables covered in white and lavender linens served as the perfect escape for those needing to rest after a few fast songs. As everyone else had the time of their lives around them, Jaime and Billy were perfectly content to remain in each others’ arms.
Thank you both for allowing us to join you on this journey and to chronicle one of the most important days of your lives together. We wish you both the best as you venture forth side-by-side. Congratulations again.
