RIVERLAND STUDIOS » WEDDING & PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHERS IN CHARLESTON, SC

Helene & Warren { Island House Wedding }

Downtown Charleston and surrounding areas have amazing venues but there are some hidden gems a bit further out that are definitely worth the drive.  An Island House wedding is so amazing as the venue lends its sea breezes and private views of the Stono River to match any color palette or theme.  Shannon had the privilege of photographing a stunning wedding at the Island House and we’re happy to share her experiences with you.  She met up with Helene just in time for the finishing touches of her bridal look.  Helene’s beautiful silhouette gown was complemented perfectly by peek-toe heels.  A lush bouquet of white and pale pink spring flowers rounded out the ensemble nicely.  The bridal party accompanied Helene for some pre-ceremony portraits, and we adore all of the smiles and laughter that flowed from each photo.

Elsewhere at the Island House, Warren spent time with his groomsmen, with each looking quite dashing in their matching tuxedos.  Taking a few moments for portraits, Warren was a cool character at the water’s edge.  He and Helene envisioned a ceremony beneath a live oak, and the end result was so beautiful.  White chairs lined a manicured lawn under the wide branches of a stunning oak.  And it was at the base of the tree that Helene and Warren met and exchanged their vows and their first kiss as newlyweds.  After some portraits with their families and wedding party, Shannon stole the duo away for quiet photos of their own.  They looked amazing together with the bright green of early spring all around them.

Back at the house, the party was getting revved up.  We always look forward to the little details that make a wedding unique and the hurricane lanterns, open tent, and white linens made for a stunning, southern atmosphere.  Votive candles atop mirrored centerpieces sent light twinkling everywhere and created a romantic ambiance when the daylight began fading.  Helene, Warren, and all of their gathered guests danced long into the night before it was finally time to call it a day.  Instead of the traditional getaway car, the newlyweds escaped to a waiting boat – anxious to begin their next chapter hand-in-hand.

Thank you both again for allowing us to join you for such a beautiful day.  It was spectacular.  We wish you health and happiness as you move forward together.  Congratulations again!
