Elizabeth and Henry met while both serving in the Peach Corps in Kenya. Both living on Lake Victoria they saw each other a few times a month in a nearby city. Henry, a South Carolina native, and Elizabeth, raised in Kansas City, began dating a few months into their two-year service. When it was time to move back to the States, Elizabeth decided to move with Henry to South Carolina! Fast forward a few years and these Charleston residents are planning their wedding which will be held at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens this April.
After the Peace Corps, these two settled into work on the home turf; Henry as a financial adviser and Elizabeth as a therapist for at-risk children. When they’re not working they love spending time playing sports. Henry is a golfer, soccer player and loves boating and Elizabeth is a dedicated runner. They are also animal lovers and recently adopted a dog who they named Tusker after their favorite Kenyan beer.
Shannon photographed this beautiful Folly Beach engagement session for Elizabeth and Henry last week. We love Folly Beach’s mossy pier – it looks so pretty at sunset and makes an exciting backdrop for photos! Elizabeth and Henry looks awesome in their colorful beaded Kenyan jewelry! And Henry’s shirt is so cool! We also really like the blanket on the beach look – a good prop can go a long way for your engagement photos! And bringing a blanket also allows you some sitting photos on the beach without getting too sandy! Shannon got creative with these two and captured some intimate moments of them from above on the Folly Beach Pier. Aren’t they romantic with all the footprints in the sand!?
Elizabeth and Henry, congratulations on your engagement and we look forward to seeing your wedding!
