The sands of Kiawah were Bridgit’s destination as she headed south for some beautiful Kiawah Island family portraits, and we’re elated to share our favorites with you today. Popular amongst visitors for its resort atmosphere, Kiawah boasts some of the area’s most beautiful beaches and vistas. The Chafins (and their extended families) came from all over to celebrate their patriarch’s 80th birthday, and we had a blast getting to know them. Oftentimes for family portraits, families will coordinate outfits and it adds a bit of continuity across the different families and generations. The Chafins chose varying shades of blues and blue-greens for their Charleston casual ensembles. Against the blue of the ocean, it was rather beautiful.
Bridgit made sure to incorporate traditional as well as fun elements into the portraits and while we love the group photos and family portraits, we adore the moments of motion and any chance we had of seeing the little one giggle. Look at his smile when he sees his grandmother. So adorable! As the day progressed, he became everyone’s favorite and had his picture taken again and again. By the end he looked simply exhausted – it’s a tough life being that cute. We really like the photo of everyone running toward the camera, it’s that incorporation of fun and action that create some unique portraits. Before calling it a day, everyone took turns gathering on the board walk. With the ocean in the background and the beach grass and sand all around, the atmosphere was simply perfect for the Chafins family portraits.
We’d like to thank the Chafins, Pickels, Harkins’ and Akins for spending some of their vacation with us, and we hope all of you had a great time on the beach. And for the family member heading to Afghanistan, thank you so much for your service to our country!
