What a beautiful engagement session we have to share with you today. Stephanie and Clayton live in Charlotte, but will be getting married next summer down here in Charleston at the Island House (one of our favorite venues!). Emily is looking forward to photographing their wedding, and was also excited when they asked to do an engagement session on Folly Beach! Emily took these too down to the end of the island near Morris Lighthouse which looks super cool in the background against the setting sun. Stephanie and Clayton know the value of a good prop had the great idea of renting a beach cruiser for the session. Aren’t the photos on the bike just fantastic?! Emily really captured the fun these guys we having together. Stephanie also brought a home-made save the date sign which was styled perfectly for the beach.
We also love the outfits that Stephanie and Clayton chose. They are beach but also fun and sporty to go with the bike. And bringing along hats like they did gives the shoot a little more variety without doing an outfit change! Not only did Emily capture the great playful energy of these two, but she also used the evening sun and environment so well. It looks like it was a really colorful sunset with all that soft pink and gold light. Of all the beaches in the area, Folly Beach has the funkiest style and is a perfect fit for a shoot like this – beach cruiser and all! Emily used Folly Beach‘s variety of settings really well – from the dunes to the bone-like washed up branches to the rocks and of course the water – there are so many great spots for photos.
Stephanie and Clayton, congratulations of your engagement and we look forward to seeing you in Charleston again next summer!
