Shauna & Heath { William Aiken House Wedding }

Historic homes can create stunning events perfect for all couples and styles.  A William Aiken House wedding, such as one that Emily B. captured with Shauna and Heath, showcases the gorgeous house and exudes southern charm.  We’re happy to share Emily’s favorite moments with you today!  She arrived at the house to find Shauna finishing up the last touches of her bridal ensemble.  Her embroidered lace gown was the pinnacle of classy and she looked like a southern belle looking out onto the courtyard.  A beautiful necklace and silver beading across the gown’s midriff added a bit of sparkle to the ensemble.

We look forward to shooting bridal portraits at the William Aiken House because the interior decor is amazing.  The red and gold room with period furniture is a particular favorite and Shauna was drop dead gorgeous as she lounged on the antique sofa.  The red of the walls brought out the details in the white gown, and create a simply regal setting.  Staring into the mirror and fixing her earrings, she had the slightest smile, and it was perfect.

Out on the lawn, Heath awaited Shauna’s arrival.  His rich blue three-piece and light blue tie stood out against the yellow of the house.  A reflection pond with a beautifully decorated arbor was the perfect location for their vows.  The greenery all around the courtyard created a secluded, intimate ceremony as they exchanged the sacred words and the perfect kiss to wrap things up nicely.  The duo were newlyweds!  After a few moments (and photos) with their families, they followed Emily to another part of the garden for portraits.  Their smiles warmed everything around them and even the brightest spring day could not outshine their happiness.

Receptions at the William Aiken House have unlimited possibilities.  Shauna and Heath chose to have tables scattered around the courtyard, with the same rich blue across the tables with gorgeous floral centerpieces.  Guests were everywhere and it was a lot of fun trying to keep up with everyone and all of the goings-on.  Conversations in the veranda created laughter that filtered through the crowd as the party got going.  We loved the amount of energy coming from everyone as they ate delicious fare and reminisced about days gone by.  Finally, the dancing started and the night became a blissful blur.  After the sun dipped below the horizon, the string lights created a romantic glow that the newlyweds danced under until the stars twinkled brightly in the black sky.  Before escaping through a shower of sparklers, they held onto one another and just lived in the gorgeous moment.

Thank you both so much for bringing us along on this amazing day.  We had so much fun getting to know you and your families.  We wish you the best of luck moving forward.  Congratulations again!
