Megan & Brandon { Historic Rice Mill Wedding }

Being a coastal city, Charleston has breathtaking views no matter where you decide to have your wedding.  A Historic Rice Mill wedding pairs those gorgeous harbor views with a stunning building perfect for intimate gatherings steeped in southern charm.  Emily B. had the privilege of spending some time at the Rice Mill for Megan and Brandon’s lovely wedding, and we’re elated to share our favorite moments from their day.  She caught up with Megan as she was putting on her dress – a stunning textured bodice and layered skirt with silver beading at the waist.  Tiffany blue peek-toe heels with silver accents and a beaded clutch were the perfect compliment to the fun dress.  Waiting out in the courtyard for their first look, Brandon looked cool and collected in his unbuttoned three-piece with baby blue tie.

When Megan tapped Brandon on the shoulder and he turned, the smile on his face told the entire story.  We adore that they included their furbaby, looking quite spiffy in a matching blue bow tie.   The duo were joined by their family and friends for pre-ceremony portraits and smiles were universal. Emily was able to steal a few shots of Megan by herself and she was like a dream with her flowing train and dazzling smile.

On a deck overlooking the quiet waters of Charleston Harbor, wispy white curtains and lines of polished chairs transformed the space into a beautiful spot for their ceremony.  A cool sea breeze cut through the mid-spring warmth as everyone made their way down the aisle.  When Megan made her entrance, the world stood still.  She and Brandon looked amazing together as they exchanged their vows and a small kiss.  After the were pronounced husband and wife, they threw their hands up in triumph!  It was time to party!

The interior of the mill is perfect for a reception with original exposed brick and wide windows for those gorgeous waterfront views.  A palette of gold and navy and Tiffany blues created the classy, romantic atmosphere that Megan had hoped for.  Glistening trays of delectable food were scattered everywhere and a family table styled dinner awaited everyone.  The laughter echoed throughout the room as guests caught up over drinks.  At their table, Megan and Brandon took in the scene and just smiled.  Their love and the life they were building together had brought all of these people together and they seemed for a moment to be in awe.  It was an amazing experience.

Thank you both for inviting us into your families for an afternoon.  We had such a blast!  We wish you nothing but the best as you move forward together and congratulations once again to the new bride and groom!
