Kelly & Kevin { Downtown Charleston Engagement Portraits }

Jeanne met up with a fun couple for some lively Downtown Charleston engagement portraits, and we’re happy to be able to share them with you today. Couples are flocking from all over to take advantage of Charleston’s unending charm and beautiful vistas, two key components for the perfect “save the date.” Both facets of our lovely added distinct flavors to the portraits of Kelly and Kevin, who are from the Nashville area and know a thing or two about southern charm. Jeanne focused on the delicate colors and beautiful brickwork found throughout the city, as well as some of the ironwork that Charleston is known for, notably the gas lanterns. Springtime in Charleston brings the gorgeous out of hiding and displays it for the world to see, with flowers everywhere swaying lazily in the ocean breeze. The Battery’s views of Charleston Harbor are unmatched and were a perfect backdrop for some of the portraits with the late afternoon sun shimmering across the waves.

Whereas weddings typically center around a stunning dress for the bride and a sharp suit or tux for the groom, engagement portraits invite more personality from the couples and we’re always excited to see what they come up with. Kelly and Kevin chose two outfits each and every ensemble was an excellent choice given the beautiful weather. Kelly’s airy white and denim screamed southern comfort, complimented by gold sandals and a beautiful blue necklace. Kevin’s matching dark blue polo and khaki shorts combo would look right at home strolling down King Street. Later, it was his turn to don the denim, pairing his jeans with a light blue plaid button-up and boots. Kelly’s pink sundress was striking and added a pop of color to the last few portraits. It looked positively ablaze as she stood with Kevin with Charleston Harbor stretching into the distance.

Thank you both again for choosing us to come along with you on your adventure and we wish you nothing but the best as you continue your planning back in Tennessee. Congratulations in advance!
