Jacquie & Cameron { Sanctuary Hotel Wedding }

About an hour south of Charleston, Kiawah Island’s world class resorts and abundant natural beauty can create some absolutely stunning events.  A Sanctuary Hotel wedding features an ocean view, manicured lawns, and a beautiful hotel that combines the best of the beach with a twist of modernity.  Venturing south from the heart of Toronto, Jacquie and Cameron wanted their wedding to reflect their fun, outdoorsy personalities, and the Sanctuary was the perfect spot to do just that! Emily arrived as Jacquie was putting the finishing touches on her ensemble, and we love the classic silhouette dress with lace embroidery.  A string of pearls and a lush pink and white bouquet were the perfect compliments to her beautiful look. She was simply stunning.  Emily snapped a few bridal portraits beneath green leafed trees speckled with white flowers.  The patchwork of sunlight and shade on the ground was a lovely background for the photos.

We adore the first look tease that we got as Jacquie and Cameron held hands on opposite sides of a door.  The anticipation was building and you could tell that he was ready to see his radiant bride.  He was quite handsome himself in his blue suit with pink bow tie, and he looked right at home on the beach as he waited for Jacquie to make her entrance.  When she did, the only sound that could be heard was the faint breeze and the rolling of the waves.  She and Cameron exchanged their vows beneath a wood arbor adorned with flowers and gossamer white linen.  Their friends and family swooped in as soon as the ceremony was over to say congratulations, but Emily was able to sneak the duo away for newlywed portraits.  The lawn overlooking the ocean was a beautiful background for the photos, and we also love those in front of the hotel. With the palmetto trees, they were filled with low country charm.

A palette of white and pale pink greeted guests as they descended on the outdoor reception.  The romantic theme blended well with the natural surroundings, and we particularly loved the beautiful rose arrangements scattered throughout the space.  The guests found themselves lined on family style tables and once the conversations and laughter kicked off, they were only ever broken up by the clatter of silverware as everyone enjoyed scrumptious southern cooking.  As the sun began to set on the day, its dazzling light gave way to the warm glow of string lights and a romantic atmosphere was born, perfect for dancing.  The newlyweds took to the floor and left only when they’d had enough and desired a change of scenery and a new adventure.  Beneath a shower of sparklers, they ventured into the night not knowing where it there next adventure was going to take them.

Thank you both so much for coming to Charleston and picking us to capture your gorgeous wedding.  We wish you all the best moving forward!  Congratulations again!
