Emily had the pleasure of photographing a lovely Francis Marion Hotel wedding, and we’re excited to share some of our favorites with you today! The Francis Marion Hotel is a phenomenal venue in central downtown Charleston, featuring period architecture, warm and inviting spaces and some of the best cuisine in the city. Hannah and Kyle chose a classic, timeless theme for their wedding day and the Francis Marion was the perfect venue for their wedding. Hannah’s bridal ensemble was a vision: a cotton dress with lace bodice and silver beading across the waist complimented by beaded heels and matching necklace. Waiting in the Cistern at the College of Charleston was Kyle, looking dashing in his slate grey three piece with emerald green tie.
Hannah and Kyle’s first look featured the gorgeous green and historic architecture of the Cistern, mixing the iconic columns of Randolph Hall with the live oaks filtering sunlight to the lawn. The duo spent a little bit of time by themselves on the main path before being joined by the wedding parties. The gorgeous emerald green of the bridesmaid’s dress matched the guys’ ties perfectly. Hannah and Kyle broke away for just a few more portraits, dancing on a side path away from everyone, a little preamble to the reception that awaited them later.
Inside of the Francis Marion, a state room with pale yellow walls and beautifully polished light wood floors held the ceremony. Wicker chairs and white cushions accented by hanging vines brought a lovely, rustic feel to the glowing room. The same vines joined hydrangeas and roses across the fireplace behind the pastor. After our smiling couple became newlyweds, they trekked with Emily around the Hotel for some intimate portraits as well as more stately photos. Meanwhile, the ceremony space was being transformed by cotton-clothed tables with emerald green runners and silver and gold candle centerpieces. As themes go, southern elegance with a touch of rustic charm worked beautifully in the Francis Marion’s gorgeous space.
The duo re-emerged to an ovation from their gathered friends and family, dancing into the reception and did not stop until the gas lanterns had been lit for a long while.
Thank you both again for bringing us along with you on this journey. We had so much fun being a part of this beautiful day. We wish you nothing but the best as you move forward together! Congratulations again!
