Cana recently had the privilege of photographing an elegant Wickliffe House wedding and we are excited to share some of our favorite images from Emmie and Jesse’s wedding. Built in 1850, the Wickliffe House combines classic Charleston architecture and interior design with modern culinary fare and chic sophistication. Cana maximized the Wickliffe House’s various elements, including gorgeous bridal portraits on the house’s flying staircase. Emmie’s dress was stunning, with a lace embossed bodice leading to a flowy skirt, adorned perfectly by a beaded belt. Her first look with Jesse was an occasion filled with smiles. A first look is a great way to capture the emotion and joy when a bride and groom see each other for the first time. It also offers the couple a rare intimate moment alone on a bustling wedding day.
For portraits Cana took the couple to many beautiful locations, including a lovely spot on Ashley Avenue with an aged brick wall, which provided a rustic element to the photos. The photos of the bridesmaids around Emmie and the entire wedding party mingling in front of the Wickliffe House are beautiful and show the amount of fun everyone was having during the session. We love the vibrant bridesmaid dresses against the muted bluish silver of the groosmen’s suits; the contrast is absolutely stunning. Rich fall hues also were incorporated in the floral design, which included pink ranunculus, berries, succulents, and lambs ear.
Emmie and Jesse exchanged vows in a lovely ceremony held at St. Luke’s Chapel at the Medical University. We love the vaulted ceiling with the warm exposed wooden beams against the white walls. The effect is gorgeous and created an inviting atmosphere for the nuptials. The reception followed immediately at the Wickliffe House and the beautiful décor complimented the sophisticated and fun theme. In lieu of the traditional guestbook, we love the wood slats set out for guests to sign. The newlyweds and their guests took to the floor following a delicious meal provided by the Wickliffe House’s on-site restaurant and danced the night away. It was an eventful end to a fun, beautiful day.
We would like to thank you both again for having us be a part of your special day and wish you nothing but the best in your futures in Destin. Congratulations again!
