One of Charleston’s best features is the multitude of historic houses that can be transformed into incredible event spaces. We’re happy to share with you some of Cana’s experiences photographing a recent Legare Waring House wedding! Part of the Charles Towne Landing park, the Legare Waring House benefits from the area’s historic beauty and offers enchanting spaces perfect for a Charleston wedding. Emily and Justin met through the internet and have maintained a healthy long distance relationship, capped by a proposal on Independence Day before he was deployed to the Middle East. They described their wedding day as Southern prep with a bit of elegance and a touch of class. We love how they made the Legare Waring House their own.
Cana had the opportunity of capturing Emily getting ready and she was a truly stunning bride. Her satin A-line dress was perfect for the day and was complimented by silver beading at the waist and satin ribbons tied at the back. Her Southern look was completed by laced, peek-toe wedges with silver embellishments and a long train (which we loved!) A pink and white bouquet was the perfect addition, providing a delicate softness to the gorgeous ensemble. As he waited for his beautiful bride to walk down the aisle, Justin was quite handsome in his navy blue suit and soft pink tie.
The ceremony took place in the rustic Oak Alley and the polished wood chairs were an inspired choice given the theme and environment. After exchanging their vows with gorgeous sprawling oaks stretching into the distance behind them, the duo spent some time taking lively portraits with their wedding party. The varying hues of pink popped against the subdued greens and browns of the park. After a few moments spent with just the two of them, Emily and Justin joined their friends and family back at the house for a fantastic reception.
We love that the couple chose an outdoor reception, a perfect way to enjoy the lovely spring day. They wanted an al fresco but formal dinner and the white and gold décor sparkled in the late afternoon sun. The family style inspired seating was perfect for conversation and reminiscing as the guests nibbled on local goodies and sipped on Southern treats. As the sun began to set on the day, strings of twinkle lights set a romantic mood over the affair and Emily and Justin shared kisses and dances. They couldn’t help themselves and stole one last kiss as they were making their grand exit through a shower of bubbles!
We would like to take an opportunity to thank you for choosing us to capture your day and have had such a great experience getting to know the both of you. We wish you nothing but the best in your future together in Washington. Justin, thank you so much for your service to our country! Congratulations again!
