Last month, Shannon ventured west of the Ashley River for a gorgeous Magnolia Plantation wedding, and we’re so happy to share some of our favorite moments with you today! Elizabeth and Henry met through Peace Corps Kenya five years ago and she decided to return to his native South Carolina with him when their service ended. For their wedding, they wanted something elegant and intimate that also celebrated their past together and Magnolia Plantation was the perfect place. Shannon began by spending some time with Elizabeth and the bridesmaids. Elizabeth’s dress was amazing! The ornately decorated gold lace bodice was flat out gorgeous and complimented the mermaid style perfectly. The bridal look was rounded out with a beautiful silver and gold headband and silver embellished heels. The gold and silver in her ensemble were a lovely compliment to the striking blue in Henry’s suit. Their first look on the bridge was romantic and set the mood for the remainder of their day.
The Plantation’s natural beauty was all the decoration necessary for a gorgeous ceremony. White wooden chairs gave the proceedings a lovely southern feel and the Spanish Moss hanging in the background was simply beautiful. The southern charm extended into the décor for the reception also, with jars full of candles and flowers serving as centerpieces on the pale lavender linens. We love the homage to Elizabeth and Henry’s time in Kenya with the globe guestbook. It is a wonderfully unique idea that fit them perfectly. The Kenyan theme continued with a gorgeous groom’s cake and décor for their chairs. Couples often put their past into their ceremonies but to see a different culture so prominently represented is refreshing and a beautiful look into the couple’s personal lives. It was truly a day to remember.
Elizabeth and Henry, thank you both again for inviting us to be a part of your romantic and unique wedding day and we wish you health and happiness as you begin this new chapter together. Congratulations again!
