Shannon recently headed Downtown to capture some stunning Lowndes Grove Plantation bridal portraits, and we’re excited to share our favorites with you today! Resting on the banks of the Ashley River and featuring acres of live oak groves and iconic Federal architecture, Lowndes Grove is perfect for couples seeking southern charm for their wedding or for brides wanting a breathtaking location to unveil their bridal ensemble. Brooke’s linen and lace strapless gown was absolutely perfect in the historic plantation house and we love the stitched flowers and design on the bodice. We love the chiffon skirt with the same flowers and the beautiful anemone and rose bouquet that perfectly compliments the gown. The look is so fantastic and fits so well with the sophisticated feel of the spaces chosen for the portraits.
The plantation house at Lowndes Grove was built in 1786 and has been meticulously maintained to preserve the architectural beauty. The pale blue, gold and white of the great room provided a soft, romantic palette to match Brooke’s gown. The tall windows were perfect for the bright portraits Shannon wanted and the natural light made the bride shine. The entryway, with its checkerboard floor, is a unique space with tons of light and fantastic architectural features and we love how beautiful Brooke looks sitting in one of the house’s period furnishings. The private docks at Lowndes Grove are ideal for those waterfront portraits that brides love and Brooke was stunning in the afternoon sun with the Ashley River rolling lazily behind her.
Brooke, you looked so beautiful in your portraits and we wish you luck as you move forward with your new husband! Congratulations again to both of you.
