Ashley & Ned { Downtown Charleston Engagement }

We’re excited to share a few of our favorite photos from Ashley and Ned’s cute Downtown Charleston engagement session last week! This adorable couple will be tying the knot in April at one of our favorite venues, the Historic Rice Mill, located on the western side of Charleston’s peninsula. For Ashley and Ned, Charleston will be a destination wedding as they currently reside in Boston. They chose the Rice Mill for their wedding venue because they love the quaint urban feel of Downtown Charleston, with its cobblestone streets and historic buildings. Along with classic Charleston snapshots, they asked Emily to capture the urban feel of the city.

Emily started by photographing these two enjoying a drinks at Bin 152, a great wine and cheese bar on King Street. After getting some great shots of the couple through the window and enjoying each other’s company, they ventured out to the cobblestone streets for some classic downtown Charleston portraits. We absolutely love the photo of Ashley and Ned crossing Church Street with beautiful St. Philip’s Church towering in the background. Emily found some charming spots to pose these two under pink blooming Crepe Myrtle trees, lush vines, and palmettos. And we had to include some of the solo shots Emily captured of Ashley in her cute black and white stripped skirt which was a great choice for Charleston’s chic southern style. We always have such a great time photographing couples in downtown Charleston, as it offers both the universally urban style and the unique classic historic setting. It’s great that Ashley and Ned were able to have both elements in their engagement photos.

Ashley and Ned, we look forward to seeing you back in Charleston this spring!
